Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas

Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas is the higher educational institution with more than 57 years of history. The University is located in western Ukraine, with approximately 8,000 students, 1500+ of which are Master and 150+ are PhD students. There are 700+ members of academic staff including 90 professors. The purpose of the university is to facilitate participation of Ukrainian organizations, universities and research institutes, industry, small and medium enterprises in research programs of the European Union and becoming a part of the European scientific community. The structure of the university consists of 7 educational and scientific institutes: Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Tourism and Geosciences, Economics and Management, Architecture, Construction and Power Engineering, Information Technologies, Humanities and Public Administration. Educational activities are focused at hands-on skills and raising the employability of graduates at national and foreign oil and gas companies. Research fields vary from prospection, drilling, production and transportation of oil and gas, servicing, to sector economics, energy-efficiency, sustainable development, and technological safety and security.

International contacts cover Europe, Asia and North America. International student-level contacts and cooperation are performed by local committee SPE (university charter recognized the best in 2014 by Society of Petroleum Engineers). IFNTUOG has signed agreements on scientific and educational cooperation with 30 universities from all over the world including 18 European universities. IFNTUOG successfully cooperates in the educational sphere on double degree diplomas with AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland), Uniwersytet Pomorski w Słupsku (Słupsk, Poland) and London South Bank University (London, UK). About 100 graduates of IFNTUOG receive both Ukrainian and European diplomas every year.
