National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia
National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia was established in 1921. The mission of the University is to prepare specialists in line with a tertiary education system, carry out scientific-research activities, and render services in the fields of Architecture, Construction, Design, Urban Economy, Ecology, Management and Technology, in accordance with the international standards and labor market requirements. The academic staff consists of well-known architects, engaged in practical design, and specialists of leading construction organizations, as well as state and community officers, which contributes not only to the close cooperation with external stakeholders and employers, but also to the integration of educational, scientific-research and production processes.
The University has 5 faculties: Architecture, Construction, Design, Urban Economy and Ecology, Management and Technology, which produce multifaceted professionals with comprehensive experience. The University has 23 Chairs and 27 Centers, including educational-scientific laboratories and studios furnished with modern equipment and software. The University has a special role in the scientific activities carried out in Architecture, Construction, and other related fields. The implementation of internationally competitive research activities, proposal of innovative solutions and commercialization of research results are defined as aspirations of the science sector in NUACA 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. The key areas of scientific-research activities at the University are:
- The organization and coordination of scientific-research activities;
- The publication of scientific periodicals and other literature;
- The organization of the activities for the third level of higher education.
The University has been actively cooperating with foreign HEIs and organizations. Currently, the NUACA has about 80 cooperation agreements with more than 100 HEIs and organizations of foreign countries. For the time being, the most active cooperation is with HEIs and organizations of France, Italy, the United States of America, Georgia, the Russian Federation, China, Poland, the German Federation, Spain, Iran, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania. Within the framework of cooperation, exchange programs for the academic staff and students, joint research projects, conferences, competitions, exhibitions, training courses, and more are being implemented. NUACA is a member of prestigious International Professional Organizations and Consortia.
