ERASMUS+ International Staff Week, AGH University of Krakow
Greetings from AGH University and a warm welcome to you! International Staff Week is a five-day event, which includes seminars, workshops, presentations, and active participation of domestic experts and international partners. In addition, the designed Programme focuses on the processes of internationalization of the university and includes social and cultural activities. This is an opportunity to present and connect partners, students, and staff.

The First International Staff Week of the Erasmus+ Programme
1st Staff Week
The First International Staff Week of the Erasmus+ Programme at the AGH University of Krakow, organized by the Centre for International Affairs, took place from 25.02 to 1.03.2019.
The idea behind the organization of the meeting was to create a platform for cooperation, allowing participants to share their knowledge and ideas through participation in lectures, workshops, and joint discussions.
We were honored by the presence of 19 representatives of partner universities from countries such as Albania (Tirana University of Technology), Japan ( Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tokyo University, Tohoku University), Kazakhstan (Kazakh National Technological University Al-Farabi, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University), Serbia (University of Belgrade), Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas), USA (San Diego State University), and Vietnam ( Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Binh Duong University).
On the first day, during the opening ceremony, our guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation. This was followed by a campus tour including Prometheus supercomputer, AGH Center of Energy, and Anechoic chamber.
On the second day, there was a poster session of Partner Universities followed by the discussion on the Erasmus+ Programme,
On the third day, the participants had the opportunity to take part in the “Culture preparation” workshop and presentations and then they visited the Wawel Royal Castle.
On Thursday, during International Day, the participants of the 1st Staff Week presented the educational offer of their universities to AGH students. Moreover, the students had the opportunity to learn more about international exchange possibilities.
On the last day, the participants visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The 1st Staff Week officially ended with Erasmus+ Gala.
2nd Staff Week
The Second International Staff Week of the Erasmus+ Programme
2nd Staff Week
The Second International Staff Week of the Erasmus+ Programme, organized by the Centre for International Affairs, took place at the AGH University of Krakow from 9-13 May 2022.
We were honored by the presence of 40 representatives from 12 partner universities from countries such as Albania (Polytechnic University of Tirana), Armenia (National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia), Bosnia and Herzegovina (University of Tuzla), Chile (University of La Serena), Georgia (Georgian Technical University), Indonesia (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember), Kazakhstan (Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University), Mexico (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education), Nepal (Tribhuvan University), Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, National University Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic), USA (San Diego State University), and Vietnam (Hanoi University of Mining and Geology).
On the first day, during the opening ceremony, our guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Professor Rafał Wiśniowski. This was followed by a poster session and presentations of all participating Partner Universities.
On the second day, the Cooperation Coordinators presented their activities in the field of cooperation with Partner Countries under the Erasmus Programme. The afternoon session focused on the mobility of academic and administrative staff.
The third day began with testimonials from Erasmus+ students. The afternoon workshop discussed the basic procedures for the mobility of students from the Partner Universities and the problems that they may encounter when participating in the Programme.
On the fourth day, a trip to Ojców National Park was organized. On the last day, the Staff Week officially ended and certificates were handed out to all participants.

The Third International Staff Week of the Erasmus+ Programme
3rd Staff Week
The third edition of Erasmus+ International Staff Week gathered more than 30 representatives of higher education institutions from 15 countries around the world. The international guests visited AGH University of Krakow within the framework of the Erasmus+ mobility programme for higher education students and staff.
The event was inaugurated on Monday by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Rafał Wiśniowski. A presentation on the potential of the city of Krakow in terms of international cooperation was given by Mr. Wojciech Łaptaś, Deputy Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Cracow City Hall. The guests then met at a gala dinner at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, where an award was presented to Prof. Tadeusz Pająk, Erasmus+ Coordinator at AGH University. The internationalization laurel was awarded to Prof. Pajak for his long-standing contribution to the development of international cooperation at AGH, including the Erasmus+ programme, which has been successfully implemented at our University for 25 years. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Tadeusz Pajak has served as Coordinator for 18 years.
On Tuesday, teaching staff conducted classes at AGH University faculties according to pre-determined curricula, while administration representatives conducted training sessions at pre-determined AGH units. Staff Week participants also had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas and the International Centre of Electron Microscopy for Materials Science at AGH University.
On Wednesday, representatives of partner universities and institutions and associations involved in supporting and developing international mobility programs such as the Erasmus+ Student Network, Erasmus+ InnHUB, Campus France, or DAAD presented their educational offer during the Erasmus+ Partner Day.
The event was top-rated among AGH University students and employees wishing to learn more about the exhibitors’ educational offerings. At the same time, sessions and panel discussions were held on the possibilities for AGH students and employees to participate in the Erasmus+ programme and other scholarship projects. Representatives of partner universities gave presentations on the educational offer of their institutions.
In addition to the activities, the participants of the Erasmus+ International Staff Week also had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of higher education capacity-building projects in partner countries thanks to the training of an expert from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Mr. Mirko Varano, or to improve their language skills during the „Writing for Publication” workshop conducted by the Director of the Department Foreign Languages, Ms. Anna Krukiewicz-Gacek.
On the last day, the international guests took part in a field trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and received certificates of participation in the Erasmus+ International Staff Week.
The event was organized by the Centre for International Affairs, with honorary patronage of the event taken by the Marshal of the Malopolska Region Mr. Witold Kozlowski and the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), while the Mayor of the City of Krakow Mr. Jacek Majchrowski supported the event with the Partnership of the City of Krakow. Media patronage of the event was provided by the Krakow Student Photo Agency (KSAF).
